Our Visitors

Welcome to SS Peter & Paul’s. We are thankful to all who visit our parish or are intending to join us for any part of parish life. Whatever your reason for visiting, whatever your background, wherever you are from, we wish you a warm welcome here.

Entering our Church

The entrance is located on the left-hand of the Church (as you are facing it with the tree behind you). As you enter this side door into our porch please pick up any hymn books or Mass sheets from shelves at the back of Church (or one of our Welcome Team will help you). You are welcome to sit anywhere in our Church and if you make yourself known to one of the clergy then we will be delighted to help you during your time in the parish.

We do hope you will stay and join us for refreshments after Mass on Sunday.

Toilets are in the Sunshine Room (located through the door at the front right-hand side of church – turn right once through the doors into the Sunshine Room).

Parking

Parking is permitted while attending our parish, visiting the graveyard, or attending to church business.

Families and Children

We welcome families of all ages. Little Church is available on Sunday’s during term-time to help younger parishioners to pray and the Sunshine Room is available for use if children or families need some space during our liturgies.

You don’t have to be Catholic to come to Mass. You’re Welcome.
You don’t need to know all the prayers or know when to stand and sit. Just come along – you are very welcome. During Holy Communion, you are very welcome to approach one of the ministers and receive a blessing – please indicate by folding your arms across your chest.

It’s been a while? You’re welcome.
Whether it has been a few months or many years since you last came to church, you don’t need to explain yourself before coming back – you are very welcome.

Have accessibility needs? You’re welcome.
We want everyone to feel able to participate in the life of our parish. If you have mobility, hearing, visual or other accessibility needs, please contact us before your visit so we can explain the facilities available and discuss how we can help. The church has step-free access, accessible toilets, a hearing loop and space for wheelchairs.

Can I just come in and pray? You’re welcome.
You don’t have to attend Mass to spend time with God. If the church is open, you are welcome to come in, light a candle where available, sit quietly or spend a few moments in prayer. You don’t need special words or to know how to pray. Sometimes, simply sitting quietly is enough.

Have questions about faith? You’re welcome.
Perhaps you’re curious about Christianity, thinking about becoming Catholic or considering returning to the Church after many years. Whatever your questions or experiences, we’re happy to listen and help you explore faith at your own pace, without pressure or expectation.
