The Sacraments are special moments of encounter with God, through which we experience His love, grace and presence in our lives. From Baptism to Marriage, from Reconciliation to the Anointing of the Sick, each sacrament helps us grow in faith and strengthens our relationship with God and one another.

We are here to accompany and support you through these important moments in your journey of faith. Whether you are preparing for a sacrament yourself or on behalf of a loved one, you are warmly welcome to contact us for further information and guidance.

Baptism

Baptism is the beginning of our journey of faith. Through Baptism, we become members of the Church, are welcomed into God’s family and begin a new life in Christ. We are delighted to welcome children and adults into our parish family through this beautiful Sacrament.

To request a Baptism please see the parish priest after Mass to pick up a form.

Confession

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is an encounter with God’s love, mercy and forgiveness. We bring to God the things we have done wrong, receive his forgiveness and are given the grace to begin again. It is sometimes also called Confession or the Sacrament of Penance.

If you would like to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation, please speak to the Parish Priest or get in touch to make an appointment.

Alternatively, you can receive this Sacrament every Saturday from 11.15am at St Helen’s Catholic Church in Crosby Village.

Holy Communion

First Holy Communion
Children in Year 4 are invited to make their First Holy Communion during that year. Preparation for the Sacrament may take place in school or by attending a series of meetings with parents/carers.

Holy Communion for sick and housebound
Eucharistic Ministers bring Holy Communion to those parishioners who are sick and housebound. If you know of any sick or housebound parishioners who wish to receive Holy Communion,  please contact us.

Confirmation

Confirmation strengthens the grace we received at Baptism. Through the gift of the Holy Spirit, we are strengthened in faith and called to live as followers of Jesus, sharing his love through our words, choices and actions. Young people in Year 8 or above are invited to join the Archdiocesan Confirmation Programme by registering online at: liverpoolcalled.co.uk Registration is usually open from mid-January to mid-March.

Anointing of the Sick

The Anointing of the Sick brings Christ’s comfort, strength and healing to those who are seriously ill, frail through old age or facing significant medical treatment. Through prayer and anointing with holy oil, the Church surrounds the person with God’s love and entrusts them to his care.

If you, or anyone you know would like to receive the Sacrament of the Sick, please contact us.
